Face Oil - Huile visage with Chébé du Tchad for all skin types
Huile Visage face oil
Enhances, soothes and nourishes all skin types
I would like to tell you a story of a princess with gorgeous and radiant skin. This beautiful story is that of my mother. A story that she shares, nonetheless, with all the women of Chad because, there, beauty traditions have no borders. Passed down from mother to daughter, ancestral beauty recipes belong to everyone in the community. They are the heritage of the earth...
The story unfolds over forty days and forty nights. Behind the walls of the royal palace, in a large pot from the village of Gaoui, where women have been perfecting the art of daily-use and decorative pottery for centuries, sandalwood infuses its regenerating and soothing powers in an alliance of extraordinary botanical oils. This enriched magical oil, concocted with care and harmony, allows women living in the extreme climatic conditions of the Sahara and the Sahel deserts to obtain and preserve fabulously young and beautiful skin. For many years, the ritual has been a topic of legend and conjecture. What if the secret to healthy-looking, glowing skin has been, since the dawn of time, in the land of our common origins?
Just a few months after unveiling the secrets of Chébé and the incredible hair of Chadian women, it is with great pride and dignity that I present to you today my Huile Visage face oil, dry to the touch and with an incredibly silky texture.
-Salwa Petersen
Huile Visage, a face oil with a thousand powers
Salwa Petersen reinvents dry oil for the face, drawing inspiration from an ancestral recipe from Chad passed down from her mother. Precious vegetable oils, sourced for their antioxidant, revitalizing, or even regenerating benefits, are associated with an exclusive blend of sandalwood, spirulina from Lake Chad, and the iconic Chébé, harvested by Salwa Petersen, on her childhood lands in Chad.
With its delicately scented dry texture and exceptional velvety feel that penetrates rapidly, Huile Visage face oil is the outcome of an unprecedented alchemy. Skin is intensely and enduringly radiant, soothed and nourished.

Meet Salwa Petersen
From an early age, I was taught ancestral beauty rituals of my country, Chad. I learned their secrets and witnessed many benefits, specifically that of Chébé, a custom traditional and unique to Chadian women. We would grind the seeds of the croton gratissimus tree, to make a natural ointment from the powder to grow and enhance our famous long hair.
The efficacy of Chébé, inspired me to create Salwa Petersen, my eponymous collection of award-winning, clean, high- performance beauty products that combines the best of nature and ritualistic recipes of Chad with today’s cutting-edge technology and modern science.
A graduate from both Harvard and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, I began my career as a lawyer and soon realized my greater passion — for unique products in the Beauty industry. After five years, I decided to shift gears and went to work in product development for some of the world’s largest beauty brands. Over the course of several years, I helped to launch some of today’s best-selling personal care products, while learning a tremendous amount about luxury product formulation. Eventually, I became a sought-after expert in haircare, skincare and natural fragrance development.
My namesake brand, Salwa Petersen, is the culmination of that invaluable experience, combined with an extensive knowledge of the Chadian beauty rituals passed down for generations in my family.
May the timeless beauty rituals of Africa now be yours!
