Warm Quince Drink
Hello! So I posted the other day on Instagram a picture of my spicy quince drink and a lot of people were asking me for the recipe. So here it is. A word of caution, it is such a delicious, filling, warm drink, that you may become addicted and want to drink it every day while quinces are in season! I love having some while reading or knitting like in the picture!
Ingredients for 1L
2 middle sized quinces
1 tea spoon of finely minced fresh ginger
750 ml water
2 spoons of maple syrup or natural sweetener of your choice (optional)
1 tea spoon of cinnamon
Wash the quinces thoroughly and if they are not organic, remove the skin. Cut the fruit in half with a large, sharp knife. The fruit is quite hard to cut, and its middle quite spongy, so make sure you have both a sharp knife and a stable cutting board. Then cut it each fruit of the two fruits in quarters. In a pot, bring to boil the quinces and all ingrédients including the sweetner of your choice if you are using any (I personally don't) and let it cook for about 15 minutes or until the quince is becomes tender. Transfer everything into your blender and mix it until the mix is homogeneous. Enjoy!
